The House

Designed for Gathering

Maison D'Ossandon is more than a collection of bedrooms. Over nearly six centuries it has welcomed families, celebrations, conversations, and shared meals. Today the house comfortably accommodates up to fourteen guests while offering plenty of room for everyone to spread out, relax, and enjoy time together.

Whether you're preparing breakfast before a day of exploring, gathering around the dining table for a long French dinner, or curling up with a book overlooking the valley, every space has been thoughtfully furnished to feel welcoming and lived in.

Where you'll sleep

Five private suites are spread throughout the house, allowing families and groups to enjoy both privacy and shared living spaces. Most bedrooms feature their own en suite bathroom, while one enjoys a private bath just across the hall.

Every room has been furnished with comfort in mind while respecting the historic character of the house, blending antiques, modern beds, quality linens, and thoughtful touches that make it feel like a home rather than a hotel.

Gather Together

Some of life's best moments happen when everyone is finally in the same room.

Maison D'Ossandon offers several generous gathering spaces, including two elegant salons, a grand dining room overlooking the valley, and quiet corners perfect for reading, conversation, or planning the next day's adventures.

Whether you're celebrating a milestone, playing board games late into the evening, or simply enjoying a glass of wine together, the house was designed to bring people together.

Cook, Dine and Celebrate

Food has always been at the heart of our family gatherings, and we've equipped Maison D'Ossandon accordingly.

Four fully equipped kitchens provide remarkable flexibility for large groups, while the grand dining room comfortably seats everyone around one table—a rarity in historic homes.

Prepare a leisurely breakfast before heading to the Saturday market, assemble a picnic from local cheeses and fresh bread, or enjoy a memorable dinner together after a day exploring the Auvergne.

Wellness and Recreation

Whether you're maintaining your fitness routine or simply unwinding after a day of hiking, the lower levels of the house offer a dedicated exercise room with rowing machine, exercise bike, pull up bar, yoga space, and a traditional sauna.

It's a peaceful retreat tucked into the naturally cool lower floors of the house.

A House Full of Character

Maison D'Ossandon has welcomed families for nearly six centuries, and one of its greatest joys is discovering it one floor at a time. Connected by its original stone staircase, the house unfolds across six stories, with each level revealing new views, unexpected reading nooks, historic architectural details, and naturally cool spaces tucked into the hillside.

Like many medieval homes, no two rooms are exactly alike. Exploring the house becomes part of the experience, and guests should expect to enjoy a good deal of walking between floors as they settle into its many unique spaces.

Make yourself At Home

Whether you're gathering with family, celebrating a special occasion, exploring the Auvergne, or simply enjoying the rare luxury of unhurried time together, we hope Maison D'Ossandon feels less like a vacation rental and more like a home.

Open the windows in the morning. Wander to the boulangerie for fresh croissants. Spend the afternoon exploring. Gather around the table in the evening with good food, local wine, and the people you love.

That's our favorite way to experience this remarkable house, and we hope it becomes yours as well.
